The automotive industry has historically implemented best practice solutions for its packaging. But the level of waste remains high and regulations are creating new obligations.

GALIA’s “Circular Economy Impacts on Automotive Packaging” working group has been monitoring the implementation of new regulations, such as the European Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) or the Extended Producer Responsability scheme for Professionel Packaging… In this context the workgroup has also idenified eco-conception best practices to follow.

Now, our industry must address new requirements concerning the full lifecycle of packaging, from raw materials to waste, and assume financial costs such as eco-contributions or specific taxes.
