📢 GALIA Releases the New Version of the EDI INVOIC V5 Standard, Compatible with the French E-Invoicing Reform

The French e-invoicing reform represents a major transformation for all French businesses. It requires companies to select a certified e-invoicing platform, adopt or adapt structured invoice formats, and update their internal invoicing processes.

🗓️ The e-invoicing reform will come into effect on September 1, 2026.

From that date:

🔶 Large companies and medium-sized enterprises (ETIs) will be required to issue electronic invoices, submit e-reporting data for their international B2B and B2C transactions, and manage, at a minimum, invoice lifecycle statuses.
🔶 All companies must have selected a certified receiving platform.
🔶 All companies must have at least one electronic invoice receiving address registered in the Public Invoicing Portal directory.
🔶 All companies will be required to receive electronic invoices.

As part of the reform, several electronic invoicing syntaxes compliant with the EN 16931 European standard are officially recognized, including Factur-X, CII, UBL, and EDIFACT.

đźš— GALIA Supports the Automotive Industry
To support companies across the automotive supply chain in meeting these new regulatory requirements, GALIA has updated its EDI INVOIC V5 standard, which has been used consistently by French automotive manufacturers and their suppliers for nearly 30 years.

🎯 This update ensures that the standard is fully compatible with the requirements of the French e-invoicing reform.

The new version is the result of the work carried out by members of GALIA’s Electronic Invoicing Working Group and its Mapping Subgroup.

It includes:

  • A mapping of the INVOIC V5 message to the UBL and CII formats, facilitating interoperability with the officially supported formats.
  • An updated EDI INVOIC V5 (EDIFACT) message aligned with the new regulatory requirements.

Thanks to this update, companies in the automotive industry can continue leveraging their existing EDI exchanges while preparing for compliance with the new regulatory obligations.Â
