As part of its work on the medium term plan, the GALIA Steering Committee has decided to set up an Automobive Transport Users Group.

The aim is to build up an expertise base in order to improve the performance of the Automotive Transport interface. Note that this will concern “upstream transport” ; it concerns the automotive parts transport to the customer, regardless of the rank in the Supply Chain (OEM, rank 1 to n), excluding the distribution of new vehicles.

The improvement challenges in this domain are considerable. The point of the automotive industry is to share, to analyze and to standardize its common needs. This user group will also have to support changes in operating methods and / or the contribution of new technologies in the implementation of the most efficient processes and exchanges of information.

The kick-off meeting for this group was held on March 4, 2020. Participating companies are invited to share their successes and challenges. The skills are brought together to develop the group’s work program. The objective of the good practices identified will be shared with the world of transport and with our colleagues from other international organizations in the end.
