Within the GALIA Packaging User Group, different packaging topics are discussed according to user requirements. Two topics discussed in recent meetings have created the need for two new working groups.

The first one concerns EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) and EAPP (Extruded Alveolar Polypropylene) packaging. These packaging are specific and they are not the case for a standard. However, their design could be the subject of a recommendation which specifies technical characteristics for these materials and thus helps the developers of these packaging.

The first meeting took place on Wednesday October 7, 2020.

The second working group concerns Plastic Pallets. It will not be a question of defining a new GALIA standard pallet, but of identifying the essential characteristics to be taken into account for their use in the automotive industry. The characteristics of design, dimensions, loads, compatibility with the packaging used, etc. must allow their users to identify and respond to the problems encountered by suppliers and customers in the automotive industry.

Launch: Thursday, October 15, 2020.
